The Behavioral Aide supports students with behavioral challenges by implementing individualized instruction based on their IEPs. Responsibilities include executing behavior intervention plans, adapting materials, and ensuring a safe learning environment. By focusing on positive social-emotional skills and crisis management, Behavioral Aides foster an atmosphere that promotes students' academic and personal growth. As a Behavioral and Health Aide, you will support a student with unique behavioral and health needs by implementing their Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals. Your role might include adapting learning materials, assisting with wheelchair transfers and gastrointestinal tubes, managing seizures, and helping with personal hygiene. In this role, you will implement individualized education plans (IEPs), adapt classroom materials, and provide assistance with personal hygiene while maintaining students' dignity. You may also support medical procedures like using gastrointestinal tubes and recognizing seizures. Moreover, teaching in sign language would foster effective communication. This position emphasizes health and well-being, empowering students to achieve their full potential.
The Substitute Aide will play a critical role in supporting students with diverse learning needs when their regular aide is absent. The Substitute Aide will focus on maintaining a safe and supportive learning environment, assisting students in navigating their daily activities, and promoting their independence and engagement throughout the day. This role requires adaptability, compassion, and a commitment to enhancing the educational experience of each student.
